Berkeley Clinic CMS Site Case Study

Background

The Berkeley Clinic is run by Young Dentist of the Year Winner 2009 Jamie Newlands. It is fast becoming considered one of the leading cosmetic dental surgeries in the UK. They have the likes of the young dentist of the year 2008 (Mike Gow) and a varied skills base of dentists working in the surgery with is state of the art equipment.

The clinic is currently in it’s 10th year with Jamie having been in charge for the past three. Our role in the growth of the clinic was to help rapidly increase new patient numbers to the clinic which geographically has a lot of competing practices.

Brief

We were involved in the initial design a number of years ago, but this was a static site and required a web developer to make changes to the site. Jamie was looking for a content manager so that he could update vital and ever changing information regarding the dental market. We were commissioned to build a website using our RedBack CMS, This site had to remain highly ranking like their existing site, however we really wanted to focus on conversion of potential patients coming to the site and to have a website that reflected how they worked.

Using Google Analytics we analysed the data that we had collected over the years and found what people where really looking for when arriving at the site. We then defined the key target patient base that they wanted to attract and designed our SEO, content and keyword strategy towards this.

Result

Following a successful launch on the new site The Berkeley clinic has had a 40% increase in conversion of people arriving at the site and making contact to the surgery. The number of new patients coming through the website has now led to Jamie looking for a new larger surgery so he can expand to accommodate the number of new patients coming through the door. In it’s three years since starting the clinic is now on track for a turnover 8 times year one. Their plans for expansion will see the business scale up by a factor of four to help accommodate the increase in new patients
