Background
Established in 1977, Kelvin Power Tools are a specialist supplier of industrial power tools and accessories to trade users. With a showroom in Hillington Glasgow Featuring all the premium brands including DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Festool, Metabo, Paslode and Honda amongst others we stock a huge range of tools and equipment from cordless drills to grinders, mitre saws, sanders, SDS-Plus and SDS-Max hammers, routers, jigsaws, generators, mixers, power tool transformers and site lighting equipment, diamond core drilling systems and many more.
Kelvin Power Tools is respected in the power tools industry by both manufacturers and companies as one of the leading suppliers and offer demo days in the showroom on a monthly basis for all the main brands.
Brief
Kelvin were a unique project to Adeo Group, John Breslin Managing Director decided that the development of a website to sell product online was key for the success of their business to grow.
Due to the large volume of products, Kelvin already used Sage 200 to manage product, stock and orders in house and this was a key feature that we had to integrate our search engine friendly ecommerce software in to Sage 200 to manage the stock and orders.
This was a new area for Adeo and at that time there wasn’t a successful Sage 200 to web integration that ticked all the boxes in terms of being able to manage the stock and orders but also having a user friendly, customer converting, search engine friendly website.
Another key feature was the fact that John saw the potential that having branded areas of the website which he felt would offer something completely different to any other tool site on the web.
Result
After several months in development and numerous testing, the site is now live. This site has a number of features which have been added on through the development phase. Stock is automatically updated from sage and orders automatically passed back down to Sage along with brand landing pages that automatically pull relevant categories just for that brand.
Extra features include dynamic demo day calendar, interactive showroom pages, product text created on the fly.
