Facebook is the latest to join behemoth companies like Nivea and Beiersdorf by offering support for small businesses around the world during this uncertain time.
Businesses around the world are experiencing disruptions resulting from the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), from manufacturing delays to connectivity problems with ecommerce stores on Shopify, it seems no one is unaffected.
However, to help ease the burden on businesses in these uncertain times, Facebook has announced this week it is offering $100m in cash grants and ad credits to help during this unprecedented time.
The $100M Facebook cash grants and ad credits are available for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries where the tech giant operates. The money and support will help businesses retain their employees and avoid many business owners making potential redundancies.
The Facebook cash grants will help with rent and operational costs, while the ad credits will help companies connect with more customers, driving more income.
Although there aren’t any more details from Facebook yet, the company says it will soon be taking applications for the grants. You can sign up here to receive more information about what the next steps are.
